Banking voice over, in the customer’s market

A bank’s voice is heard when someone is worried about money. The script has to be approved in the market where it will be heard, and the voice has to sound like the institution that holds the account.

What this sector needs.

The decisions that matter most in banking and finance, before anyone records.

  1. Approved wording per market

Regulated wording is written for one country’s rules. Have a reviewer in each market approve the final text before recording, not the English original.

  2. Numbers, currencies and dates

Amounts, interest rates and dates are read differently from country to country. List every figure the script contains and agree how each one is said.

  3. Register

Decide between formal and familiar address for each market and keep it across the phone menu, the app and the advertising, so the customer hears one institution.

  4. Product and brand names

Say which product names stay in their original form and how they are pronounced. Customers notice a mispronounced product name quickly.

  5. Disclaimers

Required disclaimer text is often read fast at the end. Agree where it goes and how it sounds, so it is clear and not hurried.

Typical uses

  • Phone banking and IVRMenus, security prompts and confirmations in the customer’s language, where numbers and read-back matter most.
  • Product and app explainersShort films that explain an account, a card or a feature, usually the same film in several markets.
  • Staff trainingCompliance and product courses for branches and call centres, narrated in the language of each team.
  • Advertising and brand filmsCampaigns adapted per market, where the voice carries the brand and the disclaimer closes the spot.

Banking and finance: questions

Who approves the translated script?

The compliance team of each market, on the final text. Send the approved script and we record exactly that; late changes are the most expensive part of a finance project.

Do you choose the voice by market?

Yes. The voice should come from the market and suit the institution, which often means a calm, clear delivery rather than a showy one. Samples can be proposed before you decide.

Can the same project cover several countries?

Yes. Send one brief with every market and language, and each version is cast and recorded with its own approved script.
